Carolyne Akinyi Odhiambo
Capacity Development, Learning and Project Management Specialist
Ms. Carolyne Akinyi Odhiambo is a results-driven specialist in capacity development, learning and project management with twenty-two years of progressive work experience. She is experienced in supporting various organizations to develop and execute advocacy strategies for policy advocacy and community advocacy. Her expertise also includes gender integration, women's empowerment, and working with the youth. She is a recipient of the International Ford Foundation Award for good leadership. Over years, her capacity development expertise has enhanced organizational efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainability of many organizations. She has supported 50-60 organizations in developing work procedures, processes, and operational systems in entities. She is a trained teacher and is a certified proficient user of learning management systems (LMS). She has provided her capacity development and learning expertise to UN agencies, governments, private sector, and civil society organizations. Her exemplary abilities involve conducting capacity assessments, guiding entities in prioritizing their capacity needs, and devising effective change action plans. She has also been instrumental in knowledge management through development of technical briefs, manuals, operational guides and a capacity development practice manuscript. She is adept at training and guiding project work teams in all stages of project management, from initiation to execution, scaling up, and sound closing. She is well-versed in project and program management, prioritizing project scope, schedule, budget, and quality delivery of result areas. She has also contributed to developing project management manuals for projects of different sizes, showcasing her versatility.
Carolyne has worked in the sectors encompassing water sanitation, livelihoods, health, public sector reform, land administration, peace and security, environment, climate change & natural resources, small & micro-enterprise development, agriculture & electricity sub-sector. She has worked in countries in sub- Saharan Africa and advised public sector organizations in Kenya, Sierra Leone, and South Sudan; donor agencies (USAID, UN, GiZ, SIDA, World Bank); the East African Community; alongside various international, national, and community-based non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
